Fellowship House is a private, not-for-profit psychosocial rehabilitation center for individuals who experience severe and persistent psychiatric disabilities including those with co-occurring substance abuse disorders. It is the mission of Fellowship House to assist adults with severe and persistent psychiatric disabilities and individuals that also have co-occurring substance abuse disorders, achieve the maximum level of community integration and self reliance. This is accomplished by providing a comprehensive continuum of programs and services offering supportive opportunities for vocational and social rehabilitation as well as residential options, psychiatric and case management services. Fellowship House is committed to helping the persons served, who are called “members”, to better understand their illness, develop coping strategies, improve their quality of life and experience recovery.

Jimmie Hale Mission is a family of ministries including Jessie's Place, Royal Pines, and Shepura Men's Center. The Family Sunshine Center is dedicated to ending family violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking through comprehensive services and community-based outreach and prevention education. We foster hope and healing through immediate response, safe haven in crisis, advocacy, counseling, and support, so that victims may be empowered to lead safe, violence-free lives. We provide no-cost services for victims of domestic violence, family violence, dating violence, stalking, sexual assault, and human trafficking. We have two divisions: GBHS Animal Care & Control: The Greater Birmingham Humane Society provides animal care & control to many cities in the Greater Birmingham/Jefferson County area. We regulate uncontrolled domestic animals, assist with bites and attacks by aggressive animals (depending on the jurisdiction), investigate reports of possible animal cruelty and neglect, pick up stray animals, pick up confined strays, pick up loose animals without proper rabies identification, rescue injured animals, keep records of lost/found cats and dogs, give animal information and referrals, and promote responsible pet ownership through education. GBHS Animal Care & Adoptions: Our state-of-the-art adoption center at 300 Snow Drive can house around 300 adoptable pets in need of homes. These pets are both owner surrendered pets and rescued strays from GBHS Animal Care & Control. Our caring and well-trained staff of animal care technicians and adoption counselors provides care to the pets and assists the public with making informed choices about adopting pets into families in the community.
