Texland Petroleum L.P. is a privately held corporation founded in 1973 by R. J. (Bob) Schumacher, and W. E. (Bill) Rector. From its inception, the goals of Texland have been to explore for and develop the kind of oil and gas reserves that form a broad, long-term production base. Particularly, Texland has concentrated on developing oil reserves in comparatively large fields that are amenable to waterflooding and possibly to EOR recovery techniques in the future.
