Founded in 1975, The Foundation Schools gives students with emotional disabilities and autism another chance to reach their full potential. Today we serve 300 students in the Washington metropolitan area with emotional disabilities in grades K-12 and autism in grades K-8. The Foundation Schools is a nonpublic special education day school approved by the Maryland State Department of Education and the District of Columbia’s Office of the State Superintendent of Education and is a 501(c)(3) organization. Our purpose is to inspire, uplift and motivate our students to strive for a bright future and believe they can achieve their dreams.
