Russel Metals is one of the largest metals distribution companies in North America, with a growing focus on value-added processing. It carries on business in three segments: metals service centers, energy field stores and steel distributors. Metal Service Centers Our metals service centers carry an extensive line of metal products in a wide range of sizes, shapes and specifications, including carbon hot rolled and cold finished steel, pipe and tubular products, stainless steel, aluminum and other non-ferrous specialty metals. We purchase these products primarily from North American steel producers, and process, package and sell them to end users in accordance with their specific needs. Energy Field Stores Our energy field stores carry a specialized product line focused on the needs of energy industry customers. These operations distribute flanges, valves, fittings and tubular goods. We purchase products from North American steel mills, independent manufacturers of flanges, valves, fittings, pipe and tubular goods and other accessories, international steel mills or other distributors. Steel Distributors Our steel distributors act as master distributors selling steel in large volumes to other steel service centers and large equipment manufacturers mainly on an "as is" basis. The main steel products sourced by this segment are carbon steel plate, flat rolled products, beams, channel and pipe.
