The Southwest Seattle Historical Society operates as its headquarters the Log House Museum near the Alki Beach in Seattle, WA. Our mission is to preserve, educate, and promote local heritage of the Duwamish Peninsula.
We do so through managing a collection of historic artifacts and archives related to the history of the area, by curating relevant exhibits both at the museum and other sites in the community, and through an annual schedule of programs that advocate for community building through historical literacy and context.
We also help manage grants and support applications for individuals, businesses, and other organizations working to preserve the unique characteristics of our community.
