PACIFIC NORTHWEST BAKING COMPANY
PACIFIC NORTHWEST BAKING COMPANY
Sumner, Washington
51-200 employees
Northwest Baking Limited Partnership started as a joint venture between two local, multigenerational, family owned wholesale baking competitors; United States Bakeries, dba Franz Family Bakeries, and Gai’s Seattle Baking Company. Both companies had great success in independently serving QSR and retail customers in the region for several decades prior to coming together as Northwest Baking Limited Partnership Dba Pacific Northwest Baking Co. The driving force behind the formation of their partnership was a common customer served by both companies, McDonald’s. In 1987, McDonald’s wanted a single dedicated bakery to manufacture buns and soft rolls to serve their restaurants in the Pacific Northwest. Members of the McDonald’s Bakery Council and Supply Chain teams helped facilitate discussions between the two competitors, and construction of a dedicated McDonald’s bun bakery was started in 1988. Pacific Northwest Baking Co. started serving McDonald’s restaurants as a company in 1989. Our company has grown quite a bit through our nearly 30 years of service to the McDonald’s system. While we continue to serve more than 580 McDonald’s restaurants in six Western States with high quality buns and rolls, we have expanded our customer base to include some additional retail and restaurant businesses in the region.

SEATTLE CHOCOLATE COMPANY, LLC
SEATTLE CHOCOLATE COMPANY, LLC
Tukwilla, Washington
51-200 employees
Since our founding in 1991, Seattle Chocolate Company has created its signature meltaway truffles and truffle bars in the heart of the Pacific Northwest. The original chocolate factory was destroyed by the 2001 Nisqually Earthquake, but entrepreneur, mother, and investor Jean Thompson has never been one to turn down a challenge. At a make-or-break moment for the company, she stepped up and took the helm as owner and CEO. Jean had little industry experience, but was armed with an unparalleled love of chocolate and a whole lot of grit - and soon turned the company into the colorful, thriving place it is today. In 2012, Jean created jcoco, a bold new chocolate brand under the Seattle Chocolate umbrella, with a focus on feeding hungry families at its core. With each jcoco purchase, jcoco donates fresh servings of food to those in need through partnerships with food banks in Washington, California, and New York. With the help of your chocolate cravings, we’ve donated almost 4 million servings to date! Many things have changed in the last 30 years: we’ve added delightful new flavors, infused the chocolate industry with a healthy dose of color and whimsy, pushed our products to be as earth-friendly as possible, and built an incredible team of chocolate-lovers. But that meltaway truffle you fell in love with 30 years ago? It’s just as delicious as you remember.
