GSEWNI serves over 3,000 girls in kindergarten through 12th grade with the help of nearly 2,000 dedicated adult volunteers. Girls are at the center of everything we do as a council. Transitions works to end poverty and homelessness for women and children in Spokane through the operation of six unique programs: 1. EduCare - sliding-fee scale, licensed, trauma-informed childcare center. 2. Home Yard Cottages - permanent supportive housing in 24 individual cottage units. 3. Miryam's House - transitional housing with services in a community setting, for women without children. 4. New Leaf Kitchen & Café - catering & café industry job training for women with barriers to traditional employment. 5. Transitional Living Center - transitional housing with services, for women and their children. 6. Women's Hearth - safe, welcoming daytime drop-in center in downtown Spokane for individuals who identify as women and are over 18.
