We are dedicated to helping children who need family. Because no child should be alone. Through collaboration with institutions and foster families, we train caregivers, teachers, and social workers in Trust-Based Relational Intervention(TBRI®) that creates the human connection needed to unlock paths to healing. We are committed to putting children first and have advocated for millions of children all around the world. Our work has spanned across 25+ countries and has changed lives through policy reform, orphan prevention programs, community development initiatives, aging-out programs, child welfare training, international adoptions, and more. And we're just getting started.

As a Children's Ministry Intern for Glenwood Community Church, I had the opportunity to explore my potential to lead effectively as well my ability to thrive within a team environment. Through the internship, I was placed in a position in which I was tasked with planning and coordinating events alongside the whole Children’s Ministry team. In addition, I was given the opportunity to help raise support for mentally and physically disabled orphans in Taiyuan, China. Over the course of 5 days, through presenting in front of hundreds of parents and children, I was able to help raise thousands of dollars of support for the orphans.

By engaging in community development, the Chamber assists Thurston County in numerous areas including: economic development, public policy, workforce development, K-12 education, higher education, healthy work place initiatives, green business practices, environmental projects, transpiration, small business development, and community leadership development. The Chamber recognizes the health of communities is dependent on the health of many different components and being actively engaged in community development is a necessity in making our region a better place to live, work and conduct business. Through membership, businesses have the ability to increase sales, increase profit margins by cutting expenses, and brand themselves with their communities.

In response to the love of Jesus, Forward Edge integrates long-term programs for vulnerable children and their communities with strategic short-term mission trips that provide unique opportunities for mutual growth. This generates meaningful relationships, which lead to resources for the children and communities to thrive, and opportunities for everyone involved to experience deeper personal transformation. Forward Edge programs empower impoverished children toward sustainable change, so they can in turn serve and impact their own communities, surrounding regions, and ultimately, change the world. Forward Edge mission trips provide accelerated discipleship opportunities for Christ followers to put their faith in action and get inspired to continue living ‘on mission’ in their own communities, surrounding regions, and ultimately, change the world.
