The Elizabeth River Project is a growing non-profit organization leading the effort to restore the health of our historic urban river, while affirming her value to our region’s maritime economy. Formed by four concerned citizens over a kitchen table in 1991, our organization is a collection of community members, businesses, governments, students, educators and public servants working together to Do Something Beautiful by restoring our home river. We prefer to celebrate the Elizabeth River’s revival rather than lament its past. To that end, we rely on the power of partnership – rather than lawsuits and finger-pointing – to accomplish our restoration goals. That philosophy has become an international model for collective action, and led the Stanford Social Review to cite the Elizabeth River Project as one of the country’s best examples of convincing disparate interests to work together on a community project.

Tidewater Council, Boy Scouts of America provides youth development programming for families in southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. For kids, Scouting is all about adventure. Scouts participate in fun activities – like making rockets, canoeing, archery, racing Pinewood Derby cars, and camping. For parents, Scouting prepares your child for life’s challenges. Scouts learn to try new things, to set and achieve goals, to plan, to overcome obstacles – or even to cook a healthy meal for their family! Scouting teaches youth to be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent. Scouting programs are available for boys and girls ages 5-20 and their families. Set your child up for success with Scouting!

Plan and train new event staff to produce the largest HRRA event, with 1200-1400 attendees. • Oversee a team that plans 200+ annual events, forums, expos, conventions, award ceremonies, government affairs meeting, trainings, and educational classes. • Staff liaison to the Circle of Excellence Awards Gala Audit Committee. Building a FormStack Platform to transform the over 1200 application process to an online platform. • Responsible for hiring, training, overseeing the day-to-day activities and motivating the marketing and communication department. • Running multiple department projects at once, including communications, sales, and events. • Establishes affiliate partnership programs • Creating and maintaining a multimillion-dollar annual budget. • Provide monthly financial reports and budget summaries to both the Board of Directors and Executive Committee. • Present marketing and communication proposals to the Board of Directors for approval.
