Headquartered in Richmond, Special Olympics Virginia has a network of eight offices that support athletes, families and volunteers in school and community-based programs across the state. Our mission is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community. Our programs, however, are about more than just sports. Through work in health, education, community building and sports, Special Olympics is addressing inactivity, injustice, intolerance and social isolation by encouraging and empowering people with intellectual disabilities. Piedmont Housing Alliance creates housing opportunities and builds community through education, lending and development. Our goal is to ensure that everyone in our community can have a place to call home. Founded in 1983, Piedmont Housing has helped more than 800 families become homeowners through financial counseling, education and down payment assistance. We have deployed more than $7 million in down payment assistance to home buyers, developed 64 single family homes and created and now own and/or manage 395 rental homes. We are a US Treasury certified Community Development Financial Institution, a US Dept of Housing & Urban Development approved Housing Counseling Agency, and state-certified Community Housing Development Organization.

We focus on school readiness, financial stability, and connected community so that everyone can learn, grow, and live their best lives. Data highlights an unfortunate reality in Charlottesville: nearly 25% of the population lives in poverty, placing us near the bottom of localities across the US. Of even greater concern, Charlottesville’s poverty rate has not measurably improved in 10 years. We are excited to continue to work with individuals and community partners to identify issues and allocate resources in order to create positive and sustainable impact. World Pediatric Project (WPP) heals children and advances pediatric healthcare in the world. Nine out of ten children in low resource countries lack access to basic surgical care. Every child, regardless of geography, deserves access to quality critical care in order to live a full and productive life. What does World Pediatric Project do? Teams: We mobilize diagnostic and surgery teams to heal children who lack access to pediatric specialist care. Referrals: We connect children to complex surgical care through an expansive network of partner hospitals internationally and in the United States. Training: We train local doctors, nurses, and health workers in our partner countries to build local healthcare capacity. Even as we provide care to thousands of children every year, hundreds more still wait to receive the care they need. Our capacity to reach these children, and your support of this effort, is amplified through the in-kind donations of doctors and hospitals. Every one dollar donated by our supporters becomes four dollars of provided medical care through the generosity of our volunteers and medical partners. Heal a Child, Change the World

Air Serv is a not-for-profit humanitarian aviation company, meeting the logistical and transportation needs of humanitarian aid providers all over the world.

Children Incorporated provides resources for children in need, in both the United States and abroad. We passionately believe that children everywhere deserve education, hope, and opportunity. Children Incorporated relies on our donors and individual sponsors to provide opportunities to children around the world. Sponsorship provides an underprivileged child with basic necessities such as food, clothing, healthcare and education. Through building a sponsorship relationship for just $30 a month, or by donating to our special projects, you can help to give children hope for a brighter tomorrow.

Work directly with Fit4Kids Policy Coordinator to research and advocate for policies that improve children's health and wellness. Family and community engagement is also a core component. Greater Richmond Fit4Kids is a non-profit organization created to improve the health and wellness of children by increasing physical activity and promoting healthy eating. The organization is focused on improving children's health and reducing the prevalence of childhood obesity. The organization works primarily in low-income elementary schools in Richmond and the surrounding localities.

Child care should be more than a safe place to drop your children off. It should be a place where the entire family is nurtured, empowered, and engaged. Our programs include the latest in child care technology. Our classrooms are equipped with a variety of educational materials. Our staff is highly trained and passionate about the field of early childhood education. Our curriculum is based on Virginia Standards and includes individualized instruction and assessments for every child. Stuarts Draft Retirement Community and Christian Homes is nestled at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains and yet only 5 minutes from medical offices and shopping facilities. The Retirement Community is made up of 72 beautiful Retirement Apartments, 40 charming Retirement Villas and 2 Assisted Living facilities. The community offers carefree, secure, senior living in the splendor of the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Over the past 15 years, two local families developed the community into a warm, inviting village where they oversee all aspects of daily life. Their personal attention to your needs, including lawn care, maintenance, snow removal, meals, activities and spiritual support allow you to focus on the things you've always wanted to do.

Founded in 1967 with the mission of providing job training and employment to persons with disabilities, WorkSource Enterprises has grown into a $3 million 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that helps approximately 400 people each year as they move toward economic self-sufficiency. WorkSource Enterprises helps people who live in Charlottesville and its surrounding counties (Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, and Nelson Counties). WorkSource Enterprises programs serve adults with disabilities, adults transitioning from welfare into the work force, and “at-risk” students in area high schools. In total, WorkSource Enterprises provided job training, employment and related services to 391 people during the year ended June 30, 2013. These individuals earned a collective $1.7 million during this period. WorkSource Enterprises earns more than half of its revenues (52%) from commercial operations, and an additional 46% comes from public funding for services provided to its clients. Just over 12% of the WorkSource Enterprises budget is spent on Administration and Fundraising expenses. Programs • A supported employment program. • Community job placement services for adults transitioning from welfare to work and for “at-risk” youth. • A work center, which provides packaging and assembly services. • Commercial operations - Housekeeping and janitorial services at the Federal Executive Institute and operation of BreadWorks Bakery & Deli • A Day Support program.
