Jewish Family Service (JFS) is a non-profit home health and social service agency providing a broad continuum of services including skilled home health care, private duty in-home care, palliative care, counseling, care management, guardianship/conservatorship, meals on wheels, transportation for older adults, food and financial assistance, adoption services and services to the developmentally disabled and chronically mentally ill. We serve over 3,000 individuals annually throughout Hampton Roads, and beyond, and have a strong volunteer program. JFS's skilled home health agency is Medicare-certified and accredited by the Community Health Accreditation Partner (CHAP). For more than 40 years, the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore has provided over 350 million meals to those in our community who face hunger. Through our programs, facilities, and large network of community partners, we “eliminate hunger” on a daily basis for many. However, we understand that our current work addresses hunger for individuals in the short term. It does not address the root causes which force individuals to return to a food pantry again and again. This understanding has led to the creation of a strategic plan aimed to move Hampton Roads closer to achieving the mission of eliminating hunger for those we serve—not only for the day, or for the week, but for a lifetime.

Founded in 1988, Virginia Supportive Housing (VSH) transforms lives and communities by providing proven, permanent solutions to homelessness. Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula has ensured youth living on the Virginia Peninsula have a fun, welcoming, and safe space to engage in an array of development opportunities since 1946. During our after-school and summer programs, youth not only enjoy the benefits of participating in Club programming, but they also develop positive relationships with peers, adult staff, and volunteers. Our core programs focus on Education & Careers, Character & Leadership, Health & Life Skills, The Arts, and Sports, Fitness, and Recreation. More than seventy-two years ago, 250 neighborhood boys in Newport News entered the Boys Club of Newport News on 28th Street and experienced a family atmosphere while engaging in new and unique experiences. The organization has witnessed incredible growth since those first young men walked through those doors. We now serve over 6,000 boys and girls ages 6-18 each year in the cities of Newport News and Hampton and in the counties of York, Gloucester, and Mathews at 13 Club sites.

We’re incredibly proud of our nearly 30-year history in Hampton Roads. When we started in 1989, we focused on women and children living with HIV/AIDS. Over the years, as HIV has changed, our work has changed. Our organization has grown as well, and we’re ready to meet the diverse needs of our community. Today, LGBT Life Center’s commitment to a healthy Hampton Roads remains as strong as ever. In 1989, CANDII (Children’s AIDS Network) and Full Circle AIDS Hospice Support were two individual agencies working in Hampton Roads to better the community and help those affected by HIV/AIDS. Each did their part to serve their respective clients and educate the community. In 2006, a merger between Full Circle AIDS Hospice Support and CANDII formed AIDS Care Center for Education and Supportive Services. The two agencies came together with a common mission: to serve more individuals and families that are impacted by HIV/AIDS in Hampton Roads. At that time, the agency became ACCESS AIDS Care, uniting the two causes and bringing together two solid reputations to better serve our community. Five years later, ACCESS AIDS Care, together with The Elton John AIDS Foundation, Advocates for Youth, and many wonderful LGBT advocates, opened The LGBT Center of Hampton Roads in June 2011. In 2017, ACCESS AIDS Care and The LGBT Center of Hampton Roads expanded their mission and rebranded as the LGBT Life Center.

Crisis Pregnancy Center of Tidewater, Inc. (CPC) is a not-for-profit organization serving women and families in multiple locations in South Hampton Roads. "Just" People, Inc. is a private not for profit organization that's mission is to provide a variety of support services to adults with developmental disabilities, mental illnesses and head injuries. We are dedicated to meeting the needs for quality, dependable support. We are proud to offer six different programs to our individuals to assist with a wide variety of needs. These programs are intended to serve high-functioning individuals with developmental disabilities, mental illness, or head injury.
