The EIT Benefit Funds (EIT) has been in service to the electrical industry since 1930. 2005 marked the 75th anniversary of the Funds. The Electrical Insurance Trustees, as it was named and what we were known as for many years, was originally established to provide group life insurance and disability insurance for participants of I.B.E.W. Local Union No. 134. Over the years, through the dedicated service and commitment to serving the best interests of participants and their families by the various Board of Trustees participants (both Labor and Management), new plans for health and welfare benefits and pension benefits were created and new benefits were added to existing plans to provide participants with the best possible benefits given the resources that were available at the time. EIT now administers plans that provide a full range of health and welfare benefits such as medical, dental, vision, prescription drug coverage, hearing, mental health, accident and sickness, life insurance, disability and unemployment benefits. Participants are eligible for these various benefits based on the terms of the collective bargaining agreement negotiated by the Local with the employer(s). In addition to the many health and welfare benefits provided, EIT also administers various defined benefit pension plans and a defined contribution pension plan that participants participate in based on the terms of the collective bargaining agreement negotiated by the Local with the employer(s). EIT, its Trustees and employees remain committed to serving the electrical industry in the many years to come by striving to fulfill our mission: To enhance the quality of life for participants, their families and their beneficiaries by delivering retirement benefits, health care coverage, and related services as professionally, efficiently and cost-effectively as possible.

Professional conduct, organization, coordination and follow-up are afforded every project. A lot has changed in Hampton Roads since Howard and Betty Murrell started their business back in 1969. With its beginning as Quality Electric Co., the main focus of the company was on local gas station electrical work. Incorporated in 1973 as Quality Engineering Company, Inc. (QE), the new name reflected the company’s growth and shift to general contracting and petroleum-related service work. QE eventually expanded its operations to include heavy civil, buildings, utility and mechanical piping installations, and asphalt and concrete paving. With a growing geographical presence in the Mid-Atlantic and evolution of project experience, the company name was again changed in 1994 to Quality Enterprises USA, Inc. Having developed into a highly regarded construction firm with a reputation for quality performance in the areas of major civil, building, and specialized construction, Quality Enterprises underwent yet another change in 2017. While QE’s corporate office in Naples, Florida kept the company name, the Mid-Atlantic regional office in Chesapeake, Virginia became Conquest USA, Inc. Conquest USA continues to operate under the leadership of John Murrell, with many of the same personnel, some of whom have been with the company for well over twenty years.
