Supporting technologies include navigation aids and instrumentation, algorithms and methods, error and integrity analysis, signal processing, biological navigation systems, surveying and geodesy. Special Love, Inc. is a nonprofit providing a strong, nurturing environment for children with cancer and their families; through free camps and adventure programs, emergency financial relief, educational scholarships and virtual programs. Each year, Special Love serves hundreds of children and families around the country through in-person camps and programs, and virtual programs that reach them in their homes, or the hospital. Wherever they are, we are there for them. Special Love's camps and adventure programs host pediatric cancer patients ages 7 to 17, who are currently in treatment, and those up to 3 years off of treatment. Programs for young adult, long-term survivors ages 18 to 25, accommodate the effects cancer, and its treatment make have taken on them, as well as community of individuals who become life-long friends. Cancer can strain a families finances, so Special Love offers emergency financial aid to help keep the lights on, roofs over heads, cars running and sadly, in some cases, funeral assistance. No parent should have the added burden of how to make ends meet, or lay their child to rest. For young adults who have come to the end of their cancer journey, educational scholarships to help them pursue post-secondary education or training to move on with their lives, and plans. Special Love also provides a weekend retreat for parents whose children are in active treatment, as well as for bereaved parents. The weekend is designed by parents, for parents, to provide a safe place to share and support one another, help deal with the facts of cancer individually, and ultimately regain a sense of control. All Special Love programs and services are free. Special Love is dependent on private donations. We receive no state or government funding.
