Founded in 1994, Covington Capital Corporation initially established itself as one of Canada's leading providers of retail venture capital funds. Covington Capital Corporation was proud to evolve into a solution provider to many retail venture capital fund competitors that experienced challenges and is now a specialist in the consolidation of mature retail venture funds and selected limited partnerships; as well as a direct growth equity investor to mid-market businesses. I reported directly to the Managing General Partners and was responsible for: • Preparing the underlying financial models and delivered regular liquidity and redemption forecast presentations to the firm, its Partners, and the Board of Directors. • Working directly with CEO’s of several of the Funds’ portfolio companies to create investor presentations, prospect and qualify potential investors, and set-up preliminary fundraising meetings. Successfully helped several firms raise rounds of financing, and my efforts led to one firm being acquired from the Fund outright. • Managing communications to over 12,500 Brokers/Investment Advisors and over 130,000 retail shareholders • Working directly with C-level executives from some of the venture funds' portfolio companies to • Responsible for SalesForce Administration and data uploading; website rebranding and design (including day-to-day maintenance of the site); SEDAR filings for the family of Funds; and managing Client Services.help implement Key Product Indicator (KPI) dashboards. • Directly prospecting lower mid-market infrastructure services CEOs and solicited the sale of their businesses, leading to acquisition opportunities for a new lower-middle market buyout initiative being pursued by the firm. • Project lead for the preparation and dissemination of the Funds Annual and Semi-Annual financial statements and AGM Materials, including coordinating the involvement of all stakeholders and freelance contractors.
