Freedom Academy is a chartered public (free) school overseen by the Utah State Office of Education, with 675 students in grades K-8. The school is governed by a seven-member governing board; these board members are elected by parents of children attending the school. Freedom's daily operations are run by a director who reports to the board. Parent volunteers work primarily through a Parent Teacher Organization (PTO.) Freedom Academy uses the highly acclaimed, academically rigorous Core Knowledge Sequence, Saxon Math and Spalding Language Arts.
