Located in the heart of Houston's Museum District, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston is a dynamic cultural complex comprising two gallery buildings, a sculpture garden, visitors center, library, movie theater, gift shop, café, two art schools, and two house museums.

The Menil Collection is a museum and neighborhood of art spanning 30 acres in the heart of Houston, Texas. The main gallery building anchors the campus and is surrounded by four additional museum buildings: the Menil Drawing Institute; Cy Twombly Gallery; Richmond Hall, which features an installation by artist Dan Flavin; and the Byzantine Fresco Chapel. Making art accessible is vital to the Menil’s mission; no admission is charged and public programs are free.

Founded in 1992 as Friends of Hermann Park, Hermann Park Conservancy is a nonprofit citizens’ organization dedicated to the stewardship and improvement of Hermann Park – today and for generations to come. Through a public-private partnership with the Houston Parks and Recreation Department, Hermann Park Conservancy raises millions of dollars each year to enhance and maintain the Park. The Conservancy also manages the design of projects, and then shares construction costs with the City of Houston. Thanks to the generous financial support of foundations, corporations, and individuals, the Conservancy has raised more than $122 million for improvement projects in Hermann Park.

Holocaust Museum Houston is dedicated to educating people about the Holocaust, remembering the 6 million Jews and other innocent victims and honoring the survivors'​ legacy. Using the lessons of the Holocaust and other genocides, we teach the dangers of hatred, prejudice and apathy. Charged with educating students and the public about the dangers of prejudice and hatred in society, Holocaust Museum Houston opened its doors in March of 1996. Since that time, impassioned notes, poems, artwork and other gifts, from school children and adults alike, attest to the life-changing thoughts generated by just one visit to this unique facility. The Permanent Exhibition is called “Bearing Witness: A Community Remembers,” and it focuses on the stories of Holocaust survivors living in the Houston metropolitan area. A tour begins with a look at life before the Holocaust. Visitors then see the beginnings of Nazism and Adolf Hitler’s rise to power. The displays progress through the disruption of normal life, to segregation, to imprisonment in concentration camps and finally to extermination. The roles of collaborators, by-standers, rescuers and liberators are portrayed through artifacts, film reels, photographs, and text panels. The main exhibit ends with the moving short films “Voices” and “Voices II,” which alternate daily in the 100-seat theater. These films are compilations of verbal testimony from area survivors.

Discovery Green, a 12-acre park located at 1500 McKinney in Downtown Houston, was created by a public-private partnership between the City of Houston and the non-profit Discovery Green Conservancy. Located across the street from George R. Brown Convention Center, the park has two stages, major public art works, a one-acre lake, gardens, open green spaces, two restaurants, a promenade, a play area, open fountains, a dog run, and ample outdoor seating. More than 700 free events from small exercise classes to large concerts and community festivals will take place at Discovery Green this year, attracting more than 1.5 million adults and children. The Discovery Green Conservancy works with hundreds of programming partners and sponsors to present three dynamic programming seasons each year and is a wonderful venue to reach a wide range of audiences. As a non-profit organization, the Conservancy operates the park and also raises all the funds needed for the programming that Houstonians enjoy. Discovery Green's mission is to operate an urban park that serves as a village green, a source of health and happiness for our citizens, and a window into the diverse talents and traditions that enrich life in Houston.
