ECP sees 1.4 million patient visits annually across operations at 54 sites of service, supported by a clinical workforce of 900+ physicians and mid-level providers. ECP employs a differentiated model relative to other platforms in the emergency medicine space, highlighted by the ability to maintain ownership through its physician partnership model (with over 60% of physicians being shareholders today) and the ability for regional/local groups to maintain their branding and clinical autonomy while still benefitting from ECP's significant back-office infrastructure. This critical infrastructure includes support for the revenue cycle, financial and operational reporting, recruiting, training, compliance, contracting, scheduling, and payroll, among other functions. ECP's affiliated medical groups also have access to the platform's proprietary analytics platform, which operatively interfaces in real time with each hospital's IT platform to track/report daily key performance indicators (KPI) in the emergency room. These include throughput, capacity utilization, clinical quality metrics, and ancillary services reporting, which are used by ECP clinical/operational leaders and the hospitals themselves to drive quality service and outcomes and a consistent patient experience within each customer's emergency department.

Ophthalmology Associates was established in 1969 by Dr. Joe Bussey and Dr. Rufus Roberts. Both Dr. Bussey and Dr. Roberts had previously practiced in Fort Worth with another well known physician, Dr. Harold Beasley. The founding of Ophthalmology Associates facilitated their vision to create a larger multi-specialty eye clinic that, in addition to continuing to offer general ophthalmology care, would be better staffed and equipped to provide coverage of all the different types of specialized eye care than would be reasonable to expect in the traditional general ophthalmology practice setting. In pursuit of that objective, they developed a new larger clinic facility in Fort Worth on Henderson Street, near the central medical district, and recruited Dr. Tom Smith, a specialist in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Smith practiced with OA until his retirement. Within a year of Dr. Smith's arrival, Dr. Dan Bruhl, a Cataract & Lens Implant specialist, joined OA and continues to practice with OA to the present time. Over time, several highly qualified specialists joined the group to provide additional expertise for Glaucoma, Cataract & Lens Implant, Retinal, Corneal, Pediatric & Strabismus, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Neurological, and Refractive Eye Disorders. A considerably larger five story main office facility was completed nearby in 1993 and continues to serve as the main location to the present time. This facility allows Ophthalmology Associates to provide the full range of eye care services including general examinations and eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions as well as all the sub-specialist care and our new LASIK facility to eliminate the need for glasses in most cases. It's a beautiful world, you deserve to see it well!
