Fort Bend Women’s Center has been bringing healing and hope to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault since 1980. Our mission is to help survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault and their children to achieve safety and self-sufficiency, while striving to prevent violence against women. We are the only dedicated domestic violence and sexual assault emergency shelter and crisis hotline in Fort Bend County. In addition to these crisis intervention services, we are also the largest regional provider of non-residential services such as counseling, case management, advocacy and other support services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Fort Bend Women’s Center is also a major provider of housing programs, including short to long term assistance, for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Our clients are primarily from Fort Bend and Harris counties though our services are open to any survivor of domestic violence and/or sexual assault. We have a history of successfully identifying and adopting innovative approaches to victim services, driven by our commitment to providing the most effective support possible to the survivors we serve. Examples include our use of positive reinforcement, motivational interviewing, the early adoption of mobile advocacy and the introduction of neurofeedback training and behavioral therapy, to assist clients living with Traumatic Brain Injury, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and/or other mental health disorders. We are currently the only agency to offer this treatment to domestic violence and sexual assault victims.

Hands of Healing is a non-profit Organization committed to make a difference in the lives of Children, Youth and Families, by seeding Health, Happiness and Hope, one home at a time. Our Organization provides a wide array of social services to underserved and "at risk" communities, serving multiple contracts with the Texas Department of Family Protective Services (DFPS) and Texas Health and Human Services (HHSC). We currently operate two General Residential Operation facilities, providing services to 33 male youth, in Baytown TX, and 30 male youth in Harlingen TX, ages 8-17, . Each program is regionally, demographically and culturally supportive and serve the needs of youth who are a ward of the state, from all regions of Texas. As an Organization providing wraparound services, Hands of Healing possesses a license and contract(s) with the state of Texas, to provide Foster Care credentialing. This includes, marketing and procuring potential Foster Parents, providing Foster Home development, provide Foster Parent training with the goal of placing, ages 1 day to 17 years old in suitable Foster homes. Our agency is licensed to provide these services in both our Houston and Harlingen offices. In June of 2020, we will also be contracted with the state of Texas to complete adoption services. Our contracts for Substance Abuse, Substance Use, and Evaluation and Treatment with the state, as well as our contracts with Medicaid and multiple Managed Care Operations are our primary referral source for clients in need of therapeutic services. These services include individual and group therapy, outpatient drug treatment, drug education, anger management, parenting classes and much more. These services are currently available onsite in our Baytown office and will be available in our Harlingen office by July 2020.
