Interfaith of The Woodlands is a non-profit social service agency providing numerous programs and services to meet the needs of The Woodlands and the surrounding area. What began as a dream of Mr. George P. Mitchell, founder and original developer of The Woodlands, flourished into a reality and is helping thousands of individuals and families each year. Today, Interfaith’s mission continues to be based on Mr. Mitchell’s vision and Interfaith’s ongoing commitment to making a difference and being a multi-faceted community resource. Initially, Interfaith acts as an “incubator” for community social services and as a “support” for new congregations. Interfaith helps individuals and families in crisis through financial assistance for rent, mortgage, utilities, gasoline, prescription drug assistance, emergency shelter, food, clothing, senior programs and offers counseling, job training, and child care. Established in 1947, Camp Cho-Yeh is a premier Christian Camp and Retreat Center in Livingston, Texas, about an hour north of Houston. The name "Cho-Yeh"​ comes from the local Alabama-Coushatta Indian language and means “land of tall pines”. I serve as head of strategic communications at the Austin-based Cynthia and George Mitchell Foundation. I'm also principal at Gray Suit, a consulting practice using strategic communications to achieve viability for for-profit, nonprofit, and philanthropic organizations.At CGMF, I drive communication strategies advancing the foundation and its programs, focusing on environmental conservation, water, sustainable energy, Galveston Island, social justice, and legacy issues. I also provide capacity for select grantees. From 2011 to 2024, I guided CGMF's strategic communications practices as a consultant, developing and implementing the foundation's comprehensive strategy and communications framework.
