We’re a little different, but that’s why you’ll like us. Service 1st Federal Credit Union is a full-service financial institution who puts the financial goals of our members at the heart of everything we do. Whether in one of our twelve branches located in Bloomsburg, Danville, Elysburg, Lewisburg, Loyalsock, Mifflinburg, Montandon, Shamokin Dam, Sunbury and Wilkes-Barre, or out-and-about in the community, our credit union team shares seven core values that ensure our focus is always to strengthen the financial lives of our members and our community. What is a Credit Union? To put it simply, credit unions are alternatives to banks. Alternative being the key word, and we're pretty confident it's a better alternative! Credit unions offer products and services similar to those available at banks. You can open a checking account, savings account, or a CD. You can also apply for a car loan, mortgage, home equity loan, or a line of credit to name a few. So, what makes a credit union different from a bank? Credit unions are founded on the principle of people helping people. We are a not-for-profit organization that is committed to helping each of our members become financially responsible consumers. Once you're a member, you have an equal share in our company - every member counts! Our Board of Directors is elected by our membership, volunteering their time as advocates for the members. Our earnings are passed on to our members in the form of lower rates and fees on loans and higher returns on share accounts. Join Service 1st and experience the credit union difference firsthand. We promise you won't be disappointed!
