Sandlin Motors has long been a fixture in Northeast Texas. We have been providing automobile sales and service to this area for over 70 years. This history rich company has remained true to the family principles of honesty, integrity, and respect which were instilled by Mr. Bob Sandlin. In 1937, Mr. Bob Sandlin gave up a Sales Manager position in Henderson, Texas to purchase interest in Irvin Chevrolet Co. located in Mt. Pleasant, TX. The company then became Irvin-Sandlin Chevrolet Co. The company prospered after World War II, and in 1946 the company built new facilities at the present location of Highway 271 and 67. In 1948, Mr. Sandlin purchased the remaining interest and the name was changed to Bob Sandlin Motors. In 1957, Bob Sandlin’s son, Joe W. Sandlin, joined his father in the car business. Joe Sandlin quickly built a loyal customer base with superior customer service skills. The company thrived with Joe Sandlin leading the dealership, and in 1970, the company incorporated and began doing business as Sandlin Motors, Inc. with Joe W. Sandlin as President and General Manager and Bob Sandlin as Vice President. During the 1980’s, the company saw Bob Sandlin retire only to be replaced by the 3rd generation, Joe W. Sandlin, Jr., as Vice President of Sandlin Motors. Joe Sandlin, Jr. had the benefit of being trained by both Bob and Joe Sandlin. Both elders instilled the trademarks for which Sandlin Motors is known – honesty, integrity, and respect. Following his grandfather’s and father’s example, current owner Joe Sandlin, Jr. has lead the business, continuing to be the premier Chevrolet dealership in the area.
