Pathfinders offers three programs to families and individuals struggling to overcome the bonds of poverty, homelessness and reentry after incarceration. Our Mentoring program is unique to Tarrant County, matching trained volunteer mentors to provide a broad range of support to clients including: budgeting, job preparation, decision making, emotional support, parenting, and goal setting. Our 89% rate of retained employment confirms this unique program makes a difference in people's lives. The Mentoring program has been recognized for Best Practices by Urban Partnership Initiatives of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Financial Empowerment programs use the Money Smart curriculum developed by the FDIC and innovative instruction to teach financial skills in a personal meaningful learning environment. Classes include instruction in managing money, using financial services, managing credit history and handling financial setbacks. Financial Coaching offers client-drive sessions led by a volunteer coach with training in budgeting, banking and borrowing, and credit. These sessions allow clients to come with their own questions and work together with a coach to take back control of their finances, make better decision, and regain a foothold in financial stability and self-sufficiency. This is a proven effective intervention with 96% of participants achieving greater financial stability, increasing savings by an average of $4,200, and decreasing debt by an average of $5,900.

Each day, Meals on Wheels caring volunteers deliver noon-time meals with a smiling face that nourishes the spirit who are homebound, elderly and disabled persons. Additional services include: AniMeals for our clients’ four-legged family members, nutritional supplements at a low cost and client support. We are helping nourish the body and spirit of our homebound neighbors.

Housing Forward is committed to a single purpose— ending homelessness in our community. As a community we have the resources and abilities to solve homelessness and get our most vulnerable neighbors into homes of their own. We know how to solve homelessness. Housing Forward has the expertise, partnerships, and resources to lead a system-wide, data-driven strategy to solve homelessness in our community. We work alongside the All Neighbors Coalition, a collaborative made up of more than 100 partners across Collin and Dallas Counties that provides resources and support directly to individuals, Veterans, youth, and families experiencing homelessness. We believe in the power of our community. Together, we can solve homelessness and create a community where every person has a safe and stable place to call home.

Grant Halliburton Foundation was established in 2006 in memory of Grant Halliburton, a Dallas teen who battled depression and bipolar disorder for several years before his suicide death at the age of 19. The Foundation that bears his name works to help families and young people recognize the signs of mental illness through a variety of avenues including mental health education, collaboration, encouragement, and information. Grant Halliburton Foundation offers a variety of education programs, presentations, and an annual conference on mental wellness, suicide prevention, bullying, resilience, and other issues impacting youth mental health. The Foundation also developed Here For Texas, which includes HereForTexas.com, an online searchable database of mental health resources in Texas, and the Here For Texas Mental Health Navigation Line, a free helpline. These no-cost community tools aim to offer easy access for Texans seeking mental health and addiction resources and information. Since 2006, Grant Halliburton Foundation has provided mental health education, training, and support to more than 200,000 students, educators, parents, and professionals.
