Pathologists’ Laboratory, P.C. (PLPC) has been a community-based pathology group for over thirty years, holding ourselves to the highest standards of pathology practice. We are comprised of board certified pathologists with expertise in both anatomic and clinical pathology. We offer a very rapid turnaround time, which means that most of our cases are completed and the diagnosis is reported within 1 business day, operating on a 6 day work week. We operate a full service cytology laboratory with rapid reporting of Pap smear results. A typical Pap smear result will be available in about 3-4 business days. In practical terms, this means that there is less waiting for results with less uncertainty and less anxiety and therapeutic planning can proceed at a faster pace. We never forget that the tissue is from a live patient in need of an accurate diagnosis.

Summit Eye Center is a comprehensive ophthalmology practice that covers cataract surgery, glaucoma treatment, refractive surgery and dry eye disease as well as other conditions. We have been serving Lees Summit and the surrounding communities since 2005, but formally established as Summit Eye Center in 2015. Our staff is dedicated to the best possible outcomes set in a friendly, welcoming environment. At Summit Eye Center, our focus is helping patients achieve their best possible vision across their lifetime. This ranges from the use of the Johnson & Johnson Vision iDesign wavefront instrumentation paired with the iLasik suite for our younger patients looking to eliminate the use of glasses or contacts, to our cataract patients interested in advanced lens implant options to enhance their post surgical vision. We also offer minimally invasive glaucoma surgical options when medications are not the best option for glaucoma pressure control. Additionally, we offer a wide range of treatments for dry eye disease. Dry eye disease is multifactorial, and having several options allows us to better tailor treatments for patients. Options range from prescription medications and punctal plugs to meibomian gland probing and intense pulsed light (IPL) or Thermi treatments. We also offer Allergan’s TrueTear device that allows patients to actively stimulate their own base tear secretions. We actively work closely with our eye care colleagues and routinely co-manage patients when appropriate to provide the most convenient options for patients. Finally, we strive to offer all of these services in a relaxed, friendly and comfortable environment in our new facility and through first-rate staff, from the front desk to technicians and surgical counselors.
