About Milford Regional Milford Regional Medical Center, Inc. is a comprehensive healthcare system that comprises the Medical Center; Milford Regional Physician Group, Inc., and Milford Regional Healthcare Foundation. The Medical Center is located at the intersection of Routes 140 and 16 in Milford, MA. A full-service, community and regional teaching hospital, Milford Regional is a 149-bed, nonprofit, acute-care facility serving a region of 20-plus towns. With over 300 primary care and specialty physicians on the medical staff, our physicians are skilled in the most advanced procedures and technology, and provide personalized patient care in a warm and caring environment. Milford Regional broke ground in early 2014 on a new 78,000 square feet building (116,000 square feet with underground parking) that houses a new emergency department, intensive care unit and private patient rooms. The intensive care unit has grown from 4,600 to 13,000 square feet in order to accommodate today’s advanced life-saving technologies. A new telemetry floor with 24 private patient rooms will allow the hospital to convert multi-patient rooms in other areas to private without reducing capacity. The $54 million building project opened in October 2015.
