The American Mathematical Society is dedicated to advancing research and connecting the diverse global mathematical community through our publications, meetings and conferences, MathSciNet, professional services, advocacy, and awareness programs. The Society has nearly 30,000 individual members and 570 institutional members in the United States and around the world. Citizens for Citizens, Inc. (CFC) is a Community Action Agency headquartered in Fall River, MA. Incorporated in 1965 under the Economic Opportunity Act to serve as the Community Action Agency of Greater Fall River, CFC now serves the vast majority of Bristol County, providing a wide range of services to over 34,000 clients. Major programs include LIHEAP, Weatherization, Head Start, Family Planning, and Food Pantry. CFC is funded by a variety of sources, including the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG). CFC's mission is to advocate on behalf of low-income residents and address the causes and effects of poverty through the provision of direct and integrated services, the promotion of self-sufficiency, and the advancement of social change.

TVCCA is a private, non-profit Community Action Agency, incorporated in 1965. We are well recognized as a community leader and partner in advocating for and meeting the needs of the region’s economically and otherwise disadvantaged citizens. Services include: Housing: Assisting households facing eviction or homelessness. Housing Services can also help with the search and application process for senior housing options in New London County. Energy Assistance: Financial assistance toward a household’s energy bill; emergency assistance if a home’s service is shut-off or about to be, or out of fuel; other energy related services including heating system repair and replacement, budget counseling, and referrals for weatherization. Nutrition Assistance: WIC is a supplemental food/nutrition education program for eligible pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, and infants/children to age 5. TVCCA’s Meals on Wheels delivers hot, nutritious meals to seniors, allowing them to remain independent in their home. Case Management: Accessing programs within TVCCA, the State of Connecticut Department of Social Services, and throughout the community like food banks, furniture banks, and housing applications. TVCCA also helps to prepare new DSS applicants for eligibility determination interviews. Financial Education: Supportive services designed to foster and develop positive household budgeting and credit management skills, and to assist households with overcoming their current hardships by taking command of their financial futures. Childcare and Preschool Programs (Early Head Start, Head Start, and Little Learners): TVCCA provides affordable, quality, comprehensive infant/toddler, pre-school & childcare programs that serve children from birth through age five. Rogerson Communities was founded in 1860 in Boston as the “Home for Aged Men,” the first privately supported home in the area for “respectable aged and indigent men.” Since 1978, Rogerson Communities has evolved from a single retirement home for older men to a network of innovative, accessible, affordable housing and services for elders, persons with disabilities, and the working poor in the Greater Boston area. Breaking new ground and turning innovative ideas into housing and programs that truly respond to the needs of Boston’s most vulnerable, elderly residents are aspects key to Rogerson’s success. Rogerson opened one of this country’s first adult day health programs for elders in 1978, now expanded to become the Rogerson Roslindale Adult Day Health Program. Rogerson was also one of the first elderly housing providers to hire social service coordinators for residents and one of the first to encourage elders to keep pets in their homes. The agency’s leadership role in meeting the needs of older adults is exemplified most recently by the introduction of a pioneering exercise and strength-training program specifically designed for elders, Rogerson Fitness First, at the Rogerson Roslindale Adult Day Health Program as well as a number of other Rogerson facilities.

Reliance Health, Inc. (formerly Reliance House) has served Eastern Connecticut for over 40 years. What began as a single staffed, daytime drop-in center for mental health consumers residing in Norwich Hospital in the mid-1970’s, has developed into one of the most responsive and well respected providers of mental health and addiction services in the region. The mission of Reliance Health is to enhance health through mental wellness. This tethered with the values of respect, recovery, self-determination, growth, choice, and unity in diversity have guided the vision and allowed the organization to become a leader in the field. Reliance Health embraces concepts such as supportive housing, the Housing First model, harm reduction, and motivational interviewing to best serve the needs of its members in a person-centered, value-driven, and recovery-oriented way. Reliance Health has become a progressive agency at the forefront of person-centered services. Today, the organization serves over 1000 individuals annually and employs approximately 250 staff. An array of services are provided including, but not limited to: intake assessments, service coordination, peer support, supervised housing, supportive housing, employment services, supported education, adult education, supported living, social rehabilitation, shelter and homeless outreach, community outreach, respite, transitional living, young adult services, transportation, and individualized support programming. Services are primarily funded through the Connecticut Departments of Mental Health and Addiction Services and Developmental Services and aim to serve individuals aged 18 and older who lack the financial means and insurance coverage to access private supports.

The Arc Eastern Connecticut was founded in 1952 by families in northeastern and southeastern Connecticut who sought opportunities for their children who at the time were not welcome in the public school system. Today The Arc serves over 800 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. We offer day and residential supports, employment opportunities, in-home/family supports, life skills training, recreation, and person-centered, community based services. In partnership with national, state, and local chapters, we are a powerful advocacy force for full inclusion of people with IDD throughout Eastern Connecticut.

Walnut Street Center, Inc. is a nonprofit, human service agency that provides comprehensive support services to adults who have developmental disabilities and their families. The agency was founded in 1970 by parents who wanted supports for their children, and other adults who had similar needs, in their community. Walnut Street Center now provides services to people who live in the communities of Medford, Somerville, Cambridge, and Arlington, Massachusetts. The Mission of the Walnut Street Center is to provide adults, with development disabilities, with opportunities to live engaged and meaningful lives. The agency accomplishes this mission by offering a variety of support services that provide opportunities to live, work, volunteer, and socialize in the community. The Walnut Street Center is currently developing and enhancing support services to meet the changing needs of the people who are served by this agency. Walnut Street Center's community-based services include day and employment training programs, residential and respite programs, social service, and clinical supports, and specialized services including assisted living, Alzheimer's, and day habilitation programs. The goal of all of these services is to provide the resources and support that will enable the people we serve to live rewarding and productive lives in the community.
