Ellison Bronze originated the balanced door and has manufactured custom bronze, stainless steel, aluminum and steel doors since 1932. Ellison doors have been installed worldwide with the earliest continuing to operate today. Balanced doors were designed to overcome the effects of stack action and wind pressure. Because the two edges swing in opposite directions, pressures on the in-swinging surface counterbalances the pressures on the out-swinging surface, making balanced doors easy to open and permitting the use of large, heavy doors. Concealed overhead power operation is also available. Doors can be produced in traditional hinged or pivoted configurations. We maintain a file of every door allowing for the maintenance of our balanced hardware for the life of the entrance. The history of Brownlee Lumber is rich with an entrepreneurial spirit and represents a true American success story. In 1973, brothers Dan and Charles Brownlee started their own business. The Brownlee brothers entered into the hardwood lumber industry with humble beginnings with the purchase of a log skidder and a log truck. Their hard work and determination paid off and the company grew quickly. Within a few years of operation, the company consisted of multiple logging crews and a fleet of trucks. Working as contractors for area sawmills, the brothers decided it was time to expand the business even further. In 1978, a sawmill was built. Lumber production at the Brownlee sawmill rose steadily, and in 1985 the company expanded by constructing a kiln drying operation to further process material. Today, BLC is a family-owned and independently operated modern complex of sawmills, dry kilns, and planer mill in the heart of the most beautiful hardwood forests in the world. Clear Lake Lumber was started in 1973 in Spartansburg, Pennsylvania. Our original mill produced 10,000 board feet a day and sold only green lumber. Even then our reputation for producing high quality lumber was well known locally. Over the years, we have become a much larger company, but our quality standards have remained unchanged.
