Community Services for Children, Inc., a private nonprofit organization in Allentown, Pa., prepares young children and their families to succeed in learning and in life through innovative, comprehensive, leading-edge services. CSC is the only provider of Head Start services in the Lehigh Valley, operating more than 50 classrooms of Head Start, Early Head Start and Pre-K Counts in Lehigh and Northampton counties. Our Head Start program, which dates back to 1965, serves more than 1,200 low-income children and their families, ensuring children enter school eager and motivated to learn. Early Head Start serves pregnant women, children birth to age 3 and their families. This program includes a home-based element, as well as SafeStart, a therapeutic classroom program for abused infants and toddlers. Welcome to Children’s Service Center, its Robinson Counseling Center for and Conyngham Primary Health Care Center serving all ages! Opened as the Home for Friendless Children in 1862, Children’s Service Center (together with its adult care affiliate, Robinson Counseling Center and the Conyngham Primary Health Care Center) serves serves 15,000 people annually throughout Northeastern and North Central Pennsylvania. As a regional leader in mental health services for children, adults and families, CSC and RCC operate 25 programs in six office locations, while serving numerous communities and school districts. More than 550 professionals and support staff provide assessment, counseling and crisis services, substance use disorder treatment and support, and primary care that includes prevention and screenings, sick care, and chronic disease management for people of all ages. Services provided at its Campus in Wilkes Barre, PA include: psychiatric and psychological evaluations; physical health services at Conyngham Primary Health Care Center for all ages; drug & alcohol counseling; day partial hospitalization; dialectical behavioral therapy; medication clinic; parent-child interaction therapy; first-episode psychosis services; and adoption.
