FIRST COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION
FIRST COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION
Coquille, Oregon
100-499 employees
Hello! We are First Community Credit Union and have deep roots in Oregon. In 1957, 12 teachers in Bandon came together to form a credit union, each contributing $5 to get it started. Fast forward to today, we are among the strongest credit unions in the nation - but still remain true to our local roots. We aren't some big institution from some big metropolis nowhere near here. In fact, we're headquartered right in Coquille. Your kids play where our kids play. Your morning commutes are our morning commutes. And we certainly share your pride and connection to this amazing state. What is the difference between a credit union and a bank? Credit Unions and banks offer similar products and services with one meaningful difference - credit unions serve members, not investors. This means earnings are returned to you in the form of reduced fees, competitive savings rates and lower loan rates. First Community Credit Union has been serving Oregonians since 1957, and with more than $1 billion in assets and 80,000 members, today we are among the strongest credit unions in the nation. As a federally insured, not-for-profit, full-service financial institution, we're dedicated to helping our members and our communities prosper through solutions that result in financial success, as well as personalized service that focuses on transparency, simplicity, and trust. We offer all the benefits of a big financial institution, but with personalized, cost-saving services that are in your best interest. Your savings are federally insured at least $250,000 and backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. Government through the NCUA (National Credit Union Administration), a U.S. Government Agency.

CONFEDERATED TRIBES OF COOS, LOWER UMPQUA AND SIUSLAW INDIANS
CONFEDERATED TRIBES OF COOS, LOWER UMPQUA AND SIUSLAW INDIANS
Coos Bay, Oregon

In addition to the below tasks, I independently undertook three key projects that impacted operations in a positive manner. First, I researched other entities and developed a report with recommendations on how the Tribe could reduce the long turn around time in applications. With approval, I created the new operational guidelines that led to a 50% reduction in wait time for new staff to start their positions. Second, I analyzed records to determine where the most errors and confusion (which caused delays) occurred. I then made suggestions that were adopted for improving the application form that reduced applicant errors and led to an easier process for applicants, which made decisions simpler. Third, I was able to catch the department up on three years of back logged files and records. This wasn't difficult work, but needed someone to lead the project and see it through to completion. • Conduct detailed and on-going employee investigations, interviews, write reports, and compile and organize investigative files for over 400 employees, applicants, and licensees. • Ensure all required state and federal notifications are made within the allotted time period. • Improve and implement new practices, strategies, forms, and policies to improve workflow and speed up processing and results delivery. • Multitask and problem solve in a dynamic-detail intensive working environment.
