NBC Bank was organized by Walter B. Gover in Altus and chartered as a state bank on August 1, 1931. In November of 1933, NBC Bank became a National Bank under a federal charter. Under the leadership of Chairman C. Kendrick Fergeson and President and CEO H.K. Hatcher, NBC Bank expanded across the state of Oklahoma. First, was the purchase of Enid in 1989; a bank in Kingfisher was added in 1992; and in 1995, a financial institution in Oklahoma City was purchased under a second charter which was expanded to Nichols Hills in 1997. NBC moved its original charter from Altus to Tulsa after opening an office in 1998. Tangible benefits for its customers and a single set of regulatory requirements were attained when NBC Oklahoma was created as Tulsa and Oklahoma City were merged in August 2008. NBC Oklahoma has strived to be a market leader in new technology and banking products and offers a complete array of banking needs for its corporate and individual customers. NBC Oklahoma continues its heritage in maintaining a strong, safe financial institution for its customers across the state and nation with ties to Oklahoma and world through its affiliations with various military bases.
