THE CINCINNATUS SAVINGS & LOAN COMPANY
THE CINCINNATUS SAVINGS & LOAN COMPANY
Cincinnati, Ohio
1-24 employees
Cincinnatus Savings and Loan began in 1885 as Cincinnatus Loan and Building Company in the back of a tavern at 805 West Liberty, as a mutual company where depositors could be shareholders. As was common, the company did business several evenings a week and on Saturday in the rear of a tavern. The early building and loans were commonly referred to as “bauvereins”, which means “building and association”. One hundred and twenty- five years later we still remain a mutually owned and operated savings and loan. A worthy accomplishment, considering smaller institutions have been taken over by larger corporations. Over the years we have grown to three offices to conveniently serve the west side of Cincinnati. Our Mission is simple, to serve the community by offering lending and savings products that are competitive, easy to understand and designed to meet our customer’s needs, not ours, while being backed up by personal service that you have come to expect from your local community bank. To this day, it’s a quality you won’t find everywhere. Being a mutually owned company means our depositors are our owners. We pride ourselves on taking the time to sit down with our customers to get to know them and their individual financial needs; after all you are one of the owners. To our present and future customers we can truly say, “Our Bank is Your Bank”.
