While the internet is making purchasing easier, a person is still the best source for reliable and friendly service. At The Powell Company, human interaction is guaranteed at every step of the process. From our customer service to our sales team, there is no need to press ‘1’ to speak to a representative. Our people are capable of handling any questions and needs you might have. From demonstrating how products work, to on-site evaluations and assistance, or even back in our repair shop. Our people are a one-stop shop for any business's needs. We call them specialists but you can call them by their first name. We started in 1946 with Robert T. Powell and in the early days we focused on selling soap and cleaning products to churches and schools. Since then, we have experienced growth within our jan/san products while still maintaining a person-to-person relationship with the businesses we serve. In 1992, Gordon Supply in Dayton was purchased to expand janitorial product sales in the southwestern portions of Ohio. In 1995, The Powell Company was purchased by Lima-based businessmen, and in 1996 relocated to a much larger 94,000-square-foot facility near a major interstate. In 1997, The Powell Company purchased United States Chemical in Greenville. This purchase increased distribution of janitorial, warewash, and laundry supplies for western Ohio and eastern Indiana. In September 2000, The Powell Company purchased Toledo Industrial Maintenance Supply. This acquisition provided new industrial chemicals and janitorial products growth opportunities in northwestern Ohio and Michigan. Together, we can help any business give the appearance it’s customers want to see. Let’s find out how our people can help your people. Give our team a call today.
