The Association for Iron & Steel Technology (AIST) is an international technical association representing iron and steel producers, their allied suppliers and related academia. The association is dedicated to advancing the technical development, production, processing and application of iron and steel. AIST was established on January 1, 2004, by the merger of two longstanding societies, the Association of Iron and Steel Engineers (AISE) founded in 1907 and the Iron & Steel Society (ISS) founded in 1974. The best practices of both predecessor organizations were incorporated into AIST to create a strong international, member-based technical organization that can sustain itself in an environment of continual change. AIST’s professional and student member base totals over 18,000, representing more than 70 countries and including engineers, operators, corporate administrators, researchers and educators. 38% of AIST members are industry suppliers, 29% producers, 30% students and 3% academia. AIST members actively participate within the association through technology divisions, member chapters, board of directors and the AIST Foundation. AIST is committed to presenting superior technical meetings, conferences, exhibits and publications to better serve those involved in the iron and steel community, including steel manufacturers, suppliers, consumers and academics. AIST’s major international conference, AISTech, consists of more than 400 technical presentations, over 500 exhibiting companies and 6,000-8,000 attendees. This annual event brings together technologies from around the world, promoting a global network to help steel producers and suppliers compete in today’s global marketplace.

Innovation Works (IW) is the Pittsburgh region’s most active investor in and supporter of early-stage companies developing hardware, software and life sciences technologies. Though focused exclusively on helping startups in the southwest PA region, IW’s level of investment activity makes it one of the most active investors in the U.S. Innovation Works is part of the statewide Ben Franklin Technology Partners, a network of four centers developed to help diversify PA’s economy and retain the state’s high caliber innovations that are invented and incubated here. The Materials Research Society (MRS) is an international organization of almost 15,000 materials researchers from academia, industry and government, and a recognized leader in promoting the advancement of interdisciplinary materials research and technology to improve the quality of life. MRS was established in 1973 by a visionary group of scientists who shared the belief that their professional interests were broader in scope than existing single-discipline societies, and that a new interdisciplinary organization was needed. MRS sponsors two major annual Meetings offering approximately 95 topical symposia. The Society recognizes professional and technical excellence, conducts symposium tutorials, and encourages technical interaction among college students through University Chapters, and among materials professionals through regional Sections. Headquartered in Warrendale, Pennsylvania (USA), MRS membership now spans over 90 countries, with more than 46 percent of members residing outside the United States. The William Penn Association is a Fraternal Benefit Society founded over 130 years ago. Our Association operates on a non-profit basis, providing Life Insurance and Annuities to our members. The William Penn Association was founded on February 21, 1886 in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, by thirteen Hungarian coal miners. It was chartered by the State of Pennsylvania in December of that same year under the name “Verhovay Aid Association.” The goal of the founders was to extend a helping hand to each other and to the many Hungarian immigrants who worked and suffered in the mines and industrial centers of America at a period in its history when insurance of any sort was still in the far away future.

Our overarching goal has not changed since our inception in 1914 – we have and will continue to deliver on our mission of ADVANCING BUSINESS and DEVELOPING COMMUNITY for Canton and Stark County.
