Alta Care Group, the area’s leading expert in strengthening vulnerable children, is the parent organization of Alta Behavioral Healthcare, a contract agency of the Mahoning County Mental Health and Recovery Board; and Alta Head Start, the county’s provider of Head Start and Early Head Start services. In 1983, Residential Care Services, Inc began with a solitary house in Squirrel Hill that provided services to six adolescent females. As time progressed and the needs of the residents of Allegheny County changed, so did Residential Care Services, Inc. As Allegheny County has flourished the Office of Behavioral Health has never been hesitant to look to Residential Care Services, Inc to add, amend, and grow programs that would support and serve the residents of Allegheny County. From that one program with six bed in 1983 Residential Care Services, Inc with our mission firmly in our hearts and in our work has flourished for the past thirty one years into twelve programs including community rehabilitation residences, specialized housing programs, supported living in apartments, and a payee service.
