As controller of this small (4 million ann sales) enterprise, I was responsible or recruiting, hiring and training of all personnel including contract/temporary staff through various agencies. In addition, I developed, authored and implemented a wide range of policies and procedures including a system of bi-annual performance evaluations that included training for supervisors to conduct those reviews; developed basic job skill training procedures for new hires in the production area. Wrote job descriptions for various positions.
Bi-weekly payroll, related taxes and reporting, managed Workers Compensation Insurance using third party services.
Developed a flow chart of all company documents and implemented an effective and efficient system, eliminating redundancies and reducing the amount of paper copies. Substantially reduced incidence of lost documents, solicited bids for health care insurance every 2 years, reviewed the options and worked with ownership to make a final determination. Acted as administrator of the plan.
