Waste Away Systems was originally founded in 1976 by John Young. Then 36 years later, in April 2012, Young's grandson, Seth Ellington, re-established Waste Away Systems (WAS) with a new approach to high-quality waste services. Originally founded to assist the city of Newark's local trash haulers dealing with a deficiency at a city-owned landfill, Waste Away owned and operated a transfer station, landfill and hauling company. Today, Waste Away Systems (WAS) is a locally owned and operated solid waste and recycling hauling company currently servicing Licking County and the surrounding areas. In 2012, WAS started as a small, one-truck operation with a simple mission – take care of our crew and provide superior service to our customers.
