Wood County Hospital was founded in 1951 with support from the Wood County community. Wood County residents believed so much in the hospital back then; they played a key role in its early development. They sold blankets, went door-to-door asking for donations, held bazaars, and even sold a heifer to generate funds to make sure those early years were healthy. The trust and respect that has accrued over its lifetime is built on a tradition of “being there” for Wood and Henry County residents – in good times and bad – 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week. Hospice of Northwest Ohio served its first patients in 1981 and is the Toledo area's largest provider of hospice care. A non-profit, community-based organization, we are the only local agency solely dedicated to caring for the terminally ill. In 2015, we served more than 2,500 patients and their families in their own homes, in nursing homes and at our freestanding Hospice Centers. We are Joint Commission accredited and Medicare/Medicaid certified. No one is ever turned away due to inability to pay. Our mission: Hospice of Northwest Ohio provides specialized medical, emotional and spiritual care to people of all ages--and their families--living with any end-stage illness in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. Equally important, we also provide support and education to their families and caregivers.

Henry County Hospital is a nationally recognized healthcare provider that is known as a place where friends and family care for friends and family. Located in Napoleon, Ohio; Henry County Hospital is a non-profit rural facility providing a full range of inpatient and outpatient healthcare services. The hospital opened its doors in 1982 in a 64,000 square foot facility with 52 beds. When the facility was constructed in 1982; it was designed to provide care based on the inpatient model of healthcare. This was prudent at the time because more than seventy percent of care was delivered in that manner. In 2011, seventy-five percent of the patients are seen on an outpatient basis and in many cases patients are in and out of the hospital in a matter of hours. Since the opening, the hospital has outgrown its space and is now a 100,000 square foot Critical Access Hospital with 25 beds.
