Our Core Purpose: We honor life through donation. Our Core Values: Determined, Compassionate, Professional Gift of Life is the state's only federally designated organ and tissue recovery program, providing all services necessary for organ donation to occur in Michigan. We're a non-profit organization working 24/7/365 as a liaison between donors, the state's hospitals and transplant centers. Gift of Life was incorporated in 1971 by Michigan transplant surgeons to provide a network for sharing kidneys. Today, Gift of Life recovers more than 900 organs every year for transplantation from 300 or more donors, saving hundreds of lives. Bone, skin and other tissue also is recovered from nearly 1,000 donors, helping to significantly improve the lives of thousands of seriously injured and sick recipients. Gift of Life also works with Eversight Michigan to facilitate cornea and eye donation. Additionally, Gift of Life maintains and grows the Michigan Organ Donor Registry in partnership with the Michigan Secretary of State. The registry is a confidential database of state residents who have expressed their desire to someday help others by becoming an organ, eye and tissue donor.

The APRN Corporation is a multi-state provider of ancillary health services. APRN was initially started in 1959 as a private practice originally known as the American Physical Rehabilitation Network. Seeing a need for physical therapy services in small community hospitals and nursing homes that could not attract therapists and operate in a cost effective manner, the practice was expanded to provide services through contractual agreements. As the high degree of success of this “service under arrangement” became known among healthcare institutions, facilities outside the immediate area expressed interest and the practice soon encompassed a multi-state region. Respiratory therapy and home healthcare were added to the scope of services available through APRN. At the same time, the private clinic division of the corporation experienced a similar growth pattern. Today, APRN provides a comprehensive line of ancillary services including Physical Rehabilitation, Home Health Services, Respiratory Services, Sleep Disorder Services, and Educational Seminars. Our Network, dba Carter Rehabilitation Centers in Michigan, New Vision Physical Therapy, Allied Medical Services, Allied Health Services, Preston Park Sleep Center, Wolverine Sleep Center, and Center fore Golf Performance.
