Crisis Control Ministry's mission is to assist people in crisis to meet essential life needs and to become self-sufficient. We believe that food, shelter, and medicine are basic human needs and that we can meet the needs of people in Forsyth County who are in crisis and dealing with unfortunate circumstances. As a trusted resource since 1973, we serve residents of our community and provide over $3 million worth of services annually.

From newborns to adults, Family Services, Inc. (FSI), a part of the Sheppard Pratt Health System, provides high-quality services to foster health and well-being in the home, school and community. Founded in 1908, FSI serves over 17,000 of the most vulnerable residents and operates over 30 programs throughout Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties. FSI provides a wide array of programs and services which address Integrated Health and Behavioral Health; Children, Youth and Families; Victim and Domestic Violence and Community Support Services. Experiment In Self Reliance (ESR) is a nonprofit Community Action Agency established in 1964 as part of the War on Poverty. We work to improve the health and quality of life of residents in Forsyth County and around the state. Kate Bitting Reynolds established the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust in 1947 to improve the quality of life and health of residents throughout North Carolina. During her lifetime, she worked to ensure everyone—regardless of race, gender, or income—had access to health care, quality education, and economic opportunity. Few women of her day were as outspoken about the issues facing residents with low incomes. Today, the issues Mrs. Reynolds cared about remain urgent and interconnected. We are excited to announce our our new strategy to support outcomes over specific issues. We are committed to supporting promising and proven programs that can be scaled up, and to promoting equity—to ensure success for people too often left behind.

The Winston-Salem Rescue Mission is a non-profit, non-denominational, Christ-centered ministry established in 1967 as a response to hundreds of homeless men wandering the streets of Winston-Salem. It has been actively involved in meeting the physical, spiritual, emotional, and social needs of destitute people ever since. Through its programs, the Mission is able to reach out and effectively care for over 100 men each day, enriching men's lives with nurturing and recovery services.
