The Partnership for Children of Johnston County is a non-profit organization that helps improve the safety, health and emotional well-being of young children, by enhancing the quality of childcare, supporting strong families and reaching out to at-risk kids. We work collaboratively with like-minded organizations and strive toward early childhood education and school readiness for all of JoCo’s children. We prepare kids to have a better future. Our message is simple – children matter. All children – no matter what their circumstances, no matter what their physical and intellectual abilities. The Partnership for Children supports families and early childhood educators to improve the health, safety and school readiness of children in Johnston Study after study proves that the first five years of a child’s life set the course for their adulthood. Children aren’t just learning colors or abc’s – they’re learning how the world works. How to communicate, collaborate, manage their emotions and solve problems. Their brains are forming pathways that will either enhance learning and the resulting opportunity it offers or not. Our Mission The Partnership effectively utilizes a multitude of resources to ensure that Johnston’s youngest residents and their families receive educational, health, and emotional support services, preparing children for lifelong success. Zoe Empowers disrupts cycles of poverty among vulnerable youth through a three-year, peer-led program in which participants help one another become safe and healthy, skilled for long-term success, and able to lead meaningful lives within a supportive community. By investing in local, indigenous leaders in seven countries, our distinctive, holistic model provides the vital relationships, training, and resources to empower young participants to become secure, healthy, and connected community members. This three-year empowerment program not only solves the core issues of extreme poverty, but the problems of recipient dependency and donor frustration as well. Zoe Empowers is leading this growing family-based movement by actively sharing and equipping other NGOs, foundations and governments to adopt this successful, participant centric, empowerment model.
