The Philadelphia Zoo’s 42-acre Victorian garden is home to more than 1,300 animals, many of them rare and endangered. The College of Physicians of Philadelphia, founded in 1787, is the oldest professional medical organization in the country. Twenty-four physicians of eighteenth-century Philadelphia gathered "to advance the science of medicine and to thereby lessen human misery."​ Today, over 1,500 Fellows (elected members) continue to convene at the College and work towards better serving the public. Grounds For Sculpture is a 42-acre sculpture park and museum located in Hamilton, NJ on the former site of the New Jersey State Fairgrounds. Benson was responsible for its overall management, execution of the Museum’s mission and vision, including staff leadership, financial strategies and identification of innovative ways to raise funds and attract visitors and members. In serving as its chief executive she had responsibility of overseeing the stabilization of the organization, increasing visitation, raising its membership and attracting its largest base of donors in the museum’s history. Benson directed a $4.5million building renovation project and installation of a nationally recognized core exhibit.
