The St. Louis Arc is a nonprofit, United Way agency that provides support and services to more than 4000 adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and their families, throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area. It is an affiliated chapter of The Arc of the United States. Our mission is to empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families to lead better lives by providing a lifetime of high-quality services, family support, and advocacy.

Easterseals Midwest is a registered 501(c)(3) organization that is committed to helping individuals with developmental disabilities — including autism — learn, live, work, and participate in the community. The agency is part of a nearly century-old network of high-quality disability service providers, and together, we strive to change the way the world defines and views disabilities by making profound, positive differences in people’s lives every day. While Easterseals Midwest is part of a strong national network, all of the services we provide were designed in and for the Missouri communities we serve. Our board of directors is local, and we have full control of program and funding decisions. We have been active in Missouri for more than 50 years, helping to build communities where all people with developmental disabilities have equal opportunities to realize their goals, dreams, and aspirations. Currently, we support nearly 5,000 children and adults with developmental disabilities through the following programs: AUTISM SERVICES Our autism services, which include parent training and early interventions, provide help and hope for more than 2,000 individuals and families impacted by autism. COMMUNITY LIVING SERVICES Our community living services support more than 575 individuals with developmental disabilities as they live in homes of their own and participate in the community. EARLY CHILDHOOD SERVICES Our early childhood services help nearly 300 at-risk children achieve more in life through therapies, our early education center, and home visits. EMPLOYMENT SERVICES Our employment services support more than 800 teens and adults with developmental disabilities as they build job skills and find and maintain competitive employment in the community.

Community Living Inc. provides life-enriching services to over 1,000 individuals with disabilities in the community. Community Living’s mission and programs reach over 1,000 individuals and their families. From children to seniors, Community Living provides people with disabilities the opportunity to learn, live and work in the community, which makes the community inclusive, diverse and a better place to live.

Parents as Teachers promotes the optimal early development, learning and health of young children by supporting and engaging their parents and caregivers. We provide an evidence-based, research-informed home visiting model and are a center for innovation in promising practices and flexible, adaptive designs. Parents as Teachers is the trusted resource providing a proven home visiting model for the most respected organizations and professionals who meet the evolving needs of families. Our work with the professional community helps young children grow up healthy, safe and ready to learn. Our internationally recognized network of organizations and professionals supports hundreds of thousands of families in all 50 states as well as many other countries through a proven parent education model featuring intimate, in-home visits with parents and children. Organizations and professionals who come to Parents as Teachers benefit from a portfolio of resources and training that are relevant—and widely applicable—to today’s parents, families and children, especially those most vulnerable. Through Parents as Teachers, educators, child care providers and health providers help communities partner with parents to do a better job of preparing children for a stronger start in life—for example, through early detection of developmental delays and health issues—and for greater success in school. Through advocacy and outreach, Parents as Teachers serves as a voice for early childhood education and champions the critical role of parental involvement and early intervention in the education continuum. Parents as Teachers raises awareness and works to shape policy around the importance of enhancing school readiness by reaching children during the critical, formative years of life.

Since 1916, Riverbend Head Start & Family Services has been focused on improving the lives of mothers and children in our community. Today, we accomplish our mission through our Head Start and Early Head Start programming. For the young child we offer early childhood education, as well as health and nutrition services. For families and individuals we offer parenting education, social services, family literacy and various individual strengthening and family support services. All services are provided at NO COST TO THE FAMILY.
