CANO is a new charter school management organization created to bring together Esperanza Charter School and Lafayette Academy of Choice Foundation and Foundation Preparatory Charter School with the ultimate goal of strengthening all three schools, while also maintaining their unique cultures and communities. Founded in 2009, Success Prep Academy is a not-for-profit, scholastic services company created to help high school student-athletes prepare for and become more competitive in their pursuit of college athletic scholarships. We accomplish this through academic tutoring that focuses on elevating both GPA and standardized test results. Recently the company has expanded to include an additional outreach program that targets and serves high potential youth that lack healthy mentor relationships. “Boys to Mentors” is our flagship leadership development program that pairs selected pre, and early teen boys with college-bound seniors and adult small group leaders who help demonstrate and reinforce the specific leadership themes taught in our monthly workshop. This program while yet still in its infancy, is guided by the Success Prep Academy philosophy and mission to develop and guide high character, achievement-driven youth onto a path of life success. The New Orleans Charter Science and Mathematics High School provides a rigorous education in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) to traditionally under-served high school students in Orleans Parish. It is among the very few open-admissions science and math high schools in the country. No test scores or prior GPA are required.
