The Summer Youth Employment Program at Cal State L.A. currently partners with Para Los Niños to provide meaningful, paid job experience for low-income youths while also exposing them to the possibilities and benefits of a university education. Jumpstart is a national early education organization that recruits and trains college students to serve preschool children in low-income neighborhoods. The Office of Service Learning links academic teaching, learning and community service by engaging students, faculty, and community partners in collaborative relationships that embrace diversity and social justice. Prison Graduation Initiative-Cal State LA is the only university in California to offer an in-person bachelor's degree completion program for incarcerated students. Project Rebound- assists formerly incarcerated individuals seeking to enroll at Cal State LA and provides support to current formerly incarcerated students.
