The Executive Director (ED) is responsible to the Board of Directors for the overall conduct and day-to-day operations of the Crisis Line. The ED negotiates contracts for answering services and is responsible for and oversees promotion of the programs of CONTACT the Crisis Line through media advertisement and personal appearances for staff. The ED is responsible for and oversees the recruitment of adequate volunteers and personnel to staff the Crisis Line including hiring, firing, and supervising personnel in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and Contact the Crisis Line policies and procedures. The ED maintains accreditation through the International Council for Helplines (ICH). Additionally Brenda serves on the Board of the International Council for Helplines and is an accreditation examiner for ICH.
