Our Vision To be a locally owned cooperative that is a leader in providing dependable service to our customers with a competitive advantage for energy and production. Our Mission To be a respected member of the community providing exceptional, dependable service and supply with modern facilities and equipment maintained by talented, well trained employees. To be a profitable, competitive presence in agriculture that gives back to our customers and our community with pride, passion, foresight and commitment. Our History Dakota Quality Grain Cooperative was formed in 1993, when the members of Parshall Farmers Union Cooperative Elevator (est. 1915), Ross Farmers Elevator Company (est. 1916) and Farmers Union Elevator of New Town (est. 1928) voted to consolidate. Parshall Farmers Union Cooperative Elevator consisted of the two remaining grain elevators, their agronomy services and their local Cenex Station. Ross Farmers Elevator Company consisted of grain elevators in Stanley, Palermo and Ross and their agronomy and feed services in Palermo and Ross. Farmers Union Elevator of New Town consisted of two grain elevators, agronomy services and a lumber and feed store. These three cooperatives came together and created the member owned Dakota Quality Grain Cooperative. Farmers Union Oil Company of Sanish was established February 1, 1929 when 196 investors offered a total of $7,400 to start their new cooperative. Could these investors have foreseen the creation of the Garrison Dam and a town called New Town? Over time the cooperative was known as Farmers Union Oil of New Town, Cenex of New Town and lastly United Prairie Cooperative. The years have been kind to this cooperative as it has withstood much change and tremendous growth. In its 86 year history only 10 General Managers have led the cooperative.

Our ongoing focus is to help you care for your animals and herds. Providing you with animal health products at reasonable prices and following through with personalized service and dependable delivery. In 1995, 3rd generation Minnesota veterinarians—Drs. David and Daniel Tomsche—took on what they sincerely believe is their obligation. To buy right and pass those savings on to you. Leedstone began as Stearns Farm and Feed; a place where the savings started with our local neighbors and community. Over time, we evolved to Stearns Vet Outlet and Pharmacy—offering low prices on even more products and services, and expanding our ‘community’ across the United States. In March of 2013, we announced our current name of Leedstone. Moving forward and exploring new ideas, trends and equipment are at the forefront of the agricultural industry, and of our company. Together we can look to the future and anticipate new challenges. But we never lose sight of our focus of supporting producers, their herds and their livelihood. Through each evolution, we remain true to our vision to buy right and pass the savings on to you; and in our small way, passing a stronger legacy to new generations.
