Justice North is a nonprofit civil legal aid law firm dedicated to the principle that equal access to justice is a basic human right, regardless of background or circumstances. We open the doors of the justice system to the most vulnerable in our communities by providing critical legal assistance to preserve our clients’ safety, security, and stability. Justice North provides representation, limited services, advice, or information to individuals with issues that fall outside of the criminal justice system. For people facing civil legal challenges such as the threat of losing their home, safety, health care, income, or even their families, navigating the justice system without a lawyer can be nearly impossible. Justice North was formerly known as Legal Aid Service of Northeastern Minnesota (LASNEM). Justice North serves Aitkin, Carlton, Cass, Cook, Crow Wing, Itasca, Kanabec, Koochiching, Lake, Pine, and St. Louis Counties. The Northland Foundation is a dynamic regional foundation that invests in people and communities to support a thriving Northeast Minnesota. We offer grants to nonprofits, schools, and other public entities; loans to businesses; KIDS PLUS Program benefiting children, youth, and older adults; Maada'ookiing -- Indigenous-led grassroots grants to individuals; and special initiatives. This festival not only showcases diverse narratives from around the globe but also fosters a community of filmmakers, artists, and audiences united by a love for cinema.♦️Initiated the founding of the Minnesota Film Festival, establishing a new cultural event that promotes innovative storytelling and independent cinema.♦️Developed strategic partnerships with local and international filmmakers, distributors, and sponsors to enhance the festival's scope and reach.♦️Curated a diverse selection of films, ensuring a wide range of genres, themes, and cultural perspectives were represented.♦️Organized panels, workshops, and Q&A sessions with filmmakers, providing educational opportunities for both the public and aspiring filmmakers.♦️Managed all aspects of festival planning, from venue selection to event scheduling, ensuring a seamless experience for attendees and participants.♦️Led a dynamic team of staff and volunteers, fostering a collaborative environment focused on the festival's success.♦️Implemented marketing and public relations strategies to maximize attendance and engage a broad audience across various media platforms.♦️Secured funding through grants, sponsorships, and ticket sales, ensuring the festival's financial sustainability and growth.
