The Michigan Chamber of Commerce is a statewide business organization representing over 5,000 employers, trade associations and local chambers of commerce. The Michigan Chamber represents businesses of every size and type in all 83 counties of the state. The Michigan Chamber was established in 1959 to be an advocate for Michigan’s job providers in the legislative, political and legal process. It is one of only six state chambers of commerce in the nation accredited by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and one of only four state chambers accredited with distinction. The Michigan Chamber has been voted the most effective membership lobbying in the Lansing for the last 16 years running.

The Mackinac Center for Public Policy is a nonpartisan research and educational institute dedicated to improving the quality of life for all Michigan residents by promoting sound solutions to state and local policy questions. The Mackinac Center assists policy makers, scholars, business people, the media and the public by providing objective analysis of Michigan issues. The goal of all Center reports, commentaries and educational programs is to equip Michigan residents and other decision makers to better evaluate policy options. The Mackinac Center for Public Policy is broadening the debate on issues that has for many years been dominated by the belief that government intervention should be the standard solution. Our main initiatives focus on fiscal, labor and education policy, and we also house the Mackinac Center Legal Foundation, a public-interest law firm that uses strategic litigation and public outreach to secure the liberties of Michigan’s residents, workers, students and entrepreneurs.

The Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB) provides quality educational leadership services to all Michigan boards of education, and advocates for student achievement and public education. MASB provides many services to boards of education, including school policy, legal counsel, training and professional development, labor relations, communications, advocacy and superintendent search among others.

A VOICE FOR WORKING AMERICA United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 951 (UFCW 951) is a dynamic labor union representing more than 29,000 employees across the state of Michigan. Members work at Meijer, JBS, Twin Cities Nursing and Rehab, Harding's, Knouse Foods, JLL, Kroger, Polly's and Rite Aid. UFCW 951 belongs to the UFCW International Union. With 1.3 million members, the UFCW International Union is one of the largest private-sector unions in the country.

The Mission of the Acton Institute is to promote a free and virtuous society characterized by individual liberty and sustained by religious principles. Founded in April, 1990, the Acton Institute is named in honor of John Emerich Edward Dalberg Acton (1834-1902), 1st Baron Acton of Aldenham and the historian of freedom. Known as “the magistrate of history,” Lord Acton was one of the great personalities of the nineteenth century. Widely considered one of the most learned Englishmen of his time, Lord Acton made the history of liberty his life’s work. Indeed, his most notable conclusion of this work is that political liberty is the essential condition and guardian of religious liberty. He thereby points to the union of faith and liberty, which has been the inspiration for the mission of the Acton Institute.

The Michigan Townships Association is a voluntary membership association for Michigan’s 1,240 townships. We are not a governmental entity, but we are a 501(c)4 not-for-profit corporation. The services we provide to township boards is to speak on their behalf to state and federal lawmakers and regulators; to answer their questions on statutory requirements and provide solutions to issues they face; and we offer a wide variety of education programs to build knowledge and skills related to the core competencies required of a township official.

Founded in 1887, the Michigan Bankers Association (MBA) is a trade association of Michigan financial institutions which currently includes more than 2,300 branches located throughout the state with combined assets of over $150 billion. The MBA mission is to advocate for and support the banking industry. Our main areas of focus include: Advocacy The MBA acts as the official representative of member banks in matters of state legislation and regulation. The Association actively pursues legislation of benefit to the industry and the public at large, and opposes those measures which would hamper its members’ ability to serve the needs of their banking customers. The Association also works closely with the American Bankers Association on select issues in Washington, D.C. Professional Development The MBA sponsors more than 100 seminars, conferences, banking schools and an annual convention. Our educational programs enhance the ability of member banks to meet their needs in a complex and changing financial industry. Products and Services Through its subsidiary the MBA Service Corp, Inc., the MBA seeks ways to help our members retain business, offer first rate service and increase revenue.
