About: Baruch Senior Ministries is a faith-based nonprofit corporation that operates 29 assisted living communities throughout Michigan. We provide affordable quality housing and assisted living services to seniors in their home community close to friends and family. With God's direction, we at Baruch Senior Ministries provide hope by seeking to understand the individual needs of our residents, providing them quality physical, emotional, and spiritual care. Mission: At Baruch Senior Ministries, it is our mission and purpose to honor God by serving people as they age by promoting the value and dignity of every person. Income-Based Program: In recognizing the desire of a resident never wanting to move again, Baruch has established an income-based program which provides a reduced fee based on an individual resident’s actual monthly income. This program provides peace of mind to a family concerned about a resident outliving his/her assets by allowing him/her to remain in a Baruch community as long as they desire, without regard to their personal financial situation. The income-based program is confidential and allows a resident to remain in the same room, even after being established in the program. Spiritual Care: The spiritual care and emotional well-being of our residents is a major focus of Baruch’s mission. Baruch’s Spiritual Care Department includes two full-time Chaplains and two part-time staff members who regularly visit each Baruch community to personally lead worship, memorial services, Bible studies, and to make one-to-one pastoral calls to individual residents and staff. Our Spiritual Care Coordinator also works with local churches, pastors, and lay people to provide worship services and Bible studies for residents on an on-going basis. For information regarding specific communities, spiritual care, or our income-based program, please visit our website: www.baruchsls.org

CARDINAL SENIOR MANAGEMENT LLC
CARDINAL SENIOR MANAGEMENT LLC
Grand Rapids, Michigan
500+ employees
Cardinal was founded by Chuck Gray and Joe Pohlen in 2015 to address the growing need in the senior housing industry. Cardinal currently operates five buildings in Pennsylvania in the towns of York, Lancaster and Kulpmont. A lot of good things have happened since 2015, and really all of it only because a lot of smart, hard-working people have given Cardinal a chance. The staff in our buildings are kind, caring, and intrigued enough to entrust their futures to us, and we don’t take that responsibility lightly. Our community, our families and our residents believe in our vocation of care, compassion and dignity. We have been given an incredible honor to comfort and care for those who are writing the final chapters of their own amazing book. We are a part of their book and an important part of our community. It is true that the world is filled with ‘jobs’ that are meaningless, demeaning and boring- as well as inherently destructive. I don’t think there is an argument for the existence of such work, and we wish for its elimination. At Cardinal, we believe in the old and honorable idea of ‘vocation’ is simply that we are called, by God, or by our gifts, or by our preference, to a kind of work for which we are particularly fitted. If you are able to believe in your vocation, as we do, then there is the startling possibility that we might work willingly, and then there is no necessary contradiction between work and happiness or satisfaction. Cardinal is activly looking to attract top talent to our buildings and feel that with great people we can continue to be a leader in offering care, compassion and dignity to the seniors in our area.
