BARAGA TELEPHONE COMPANY
BARAGA TELEPHONE COMPANY
Baraga, Michigan
25-49 employees
Baraga Telephone Company provided phone and local internet service along with other various services to a large rural area. I was hired to support the Director of Education. My responsibilities were to assist in creating curriculum using PowerPoint presentations and customized manuals to teach beginners how to use the internet, email, and the very basic functions of their computer. Teaching classes and assisting the other instructors during their classes was just as gratifying as putting the materials together. The very first classes were such a success that the program was expanded to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. I created the step-by-step instruction manuals for beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes for all three of the Microsoft courses.

Since 1999, privately held Great Lakes Minerals, LLC (GLM) has been providing refractory and abrasive customers with the highest quality processed industrial minerals available. Company headquarters and plant operations, located in Wurtland, Kentucky at the Greenup Boyd County River Port Industrial Site, stand strategically located on the Ohio River near the converging borders of Kentucky, West Virginia and Ohio. Our high-capacity, state-of-the-art crushing and sizing operation has the capacity to make precise customer specified sizes 25mm through flours for the refractory and abrasive markets. GLM’s core business mission hinges on our commitment to quality and service. Quality is tested at every stage of the production process – from mine and chemical processing to US entry & GLM plant ports, and then throughout the entire production process until the finished product is bagged and ready to ship.
