Oaklawn was founded in 1925 as a 12-bed hospital in a residential home, funded by a group of visionary philanthropists. Now, more than eight decades later, we’ve evolved into a highly regarded regional health care organization, licensed for 77 acute care beds and a 17-bed inpatient psychiatric unit. We’ve continued to be an independently owned not-for-profit hospital, with our main campus residing on the same site as the original hospital, providing facilities, equipment and technology that are usually only found at larger health systems. We enjoy a reputation for advancing medicine and providing compassionate, personal care. Our service area includes Calhoun County and parts of Branch and Eaton counties with a medical staff of more than 150 providers representing over 55 specialties.

Wood County Hospital was founded in 1951 with support from the Wood County community. Wood County residents believed so much in the hospital back then; they played a key role in its early development. They sold blankets, went door-to-door asking for donations, held bazaars, and even sold a heifer to generate funds to make sure those early years were healthy. The trust and respect that has accrued over its lifetime is built on a tradition of “being there” for Wood and Henry County residents – in good times and bad – 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week. There is no time when you could ask for help that it would not be there for you. Today, with over 700 individuals employed, the Hospital is proud to be a valuable resource, ready to serve our community. Fulton County Health Center is a critical access hospital serving the residents of Fulton County Ohio and surrounding areas. We are located on 725 S. Shoop Ave. in Wauseon, Ohio We opened our doors in 1973, moving from across the street from the old Detwiler Hospital.
